Sheet Metal Services was commissioned to design and fabricate a large-capacity steel tank for installation onto an existing truck chassis. The project required precision engineering, durability, and a perfect final fit.

Our Process
- Design
We began by taking detailed measurements directly from the chassis, producing accurate drawings to ensure a hassle free fit.
- Laser-Cut Accuracy
From these drawings, we generated files for our in-house laser cutter, allowing for:
- The high precision needed
- Component quality
- Efficient production
- Rolling & Assembly
- Fabricated from in-house rolled 6mm steel sections
- Formed into 2-metre diameter cylindrical sections
- Carefully assembled to achieve a ridged sealed structure
- Finishing & Mounting
- Custom mounting points fabricated for secure installation
- Coated with red oxide primer for corrosion protection
- Finished with durable yellow top-coats for visibility and longevity
Installation
Once the fabrication and finishing were complete, we installed the tank onto the chassis, ensuring proper alignment and secure fixing before final handover.
